Irish – Hungarian Business Circle

The Irish-Hungarian Business Circle (IHBC) is a not-for-profit, member-based, politically independent organisation established in 2005 to facilitate and develop business and social networks between Ireland and Hungary and within the Irish/Hungarian community as a whole.

We are a contact point for Irish businesses interested in setting up in Hungary and for Hungarian business wishing to set up in Ireland. We’re not just about business, though. Our aim is to link all Irish people living in Hungary and all Irish companies operating in Hungary.
An additional focus is on community involvement – bridging the divide between expats and locals. We live here; we work here; and we want to contribute to the community. The IHBC is an ideal platform for both cultures to mix and learn from each other. Some examples of what we do…
The St Patrick’s Day Gala Dinner is one of our signature events, hosted by Le Meridien Hotel in Budapest. Guests enjoy a 5-star evening, with Irish music, Irish dancing, and specially selected Irish food and beverages.

Our VIP reception at the Hungarian National Derby is another popular event. In an air-conditioned space, we provide entertainment, food, drinks, and plenty of prizes, including one for the best-dressed lady.

On the first Friday of each month we have a pub meeting where members get together and catch up with what’s going on. It’s also a good opportunity for prospective members to come along and see what we do.

We are also active in outdoor activities with regular bike rides, hikes in the hills – a great way to spend a day together.
Finally we have a strong CSR Focus, and support an orphanage in Göd, for which we raise funds, visit regularly to work, paint and visit the kids.
